PTCS INSTRUCTORS

 

PTCS is currently hiring instructors to teach for PTCS in 2021 with our advanced training certifications

Qualifications include:

  • Master's degree in exercise science, exercise physiology or equivalent

  • Earned the prestigious certified strength & conditioning specialist.(C.S.C.S.) credential

  • Possess an advanced personal training certification, such as ACSM-HFS, CES, or equivalent

  • Have completed our rigorous comprehensive training program and earned CPRS certification

  • Have a minimum of 5 years personal training experience

  • Have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience

 

 

Chris Gellert, PT, MMusc & Sports Physio, MPT, CSCS, C-IASTM, CPC

Chris received his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from SUNY Plattsburgh, his Master's Degree(MPT) in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and he received his advanced Master's Degree in Musculoskeletal & Sports physiotherapy from the University of South Australia(equivalent to a U.S. Residency). Uniquely, Chris has been a personal trainer since 1996, changed careers in 1997 from Marketing to Physical Therapy.

 

His passion for learning is evident and contagious. He loves to present at conferences, private seminars and fitness venues. Chris has earned the prestigious C.S.C.S. credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2002. Chris has been a practicing physical therapist for 20 years with a strong clinical background in orthopedics, sports injuries and spinal dysfunctions and a personal trainer for 20 years. He has worked in hospital, industrial rehabilitation, outpatient, and private practice settings and has also been a fitness presenter for the past 15 years. He has created five dynamic live seminars for personal trainers, physical therapists and massage therapists, five home study and five Elearning courses on human movement. He is presently working as a physical therapist,  presents at fitness conferences, teaches live seminars for PTCS and other continuing education companies while consulting on various fitness and health-related projects.

Stephen Sefchick, MSA, MS, ACSM-CEP, NASM-CES/GFS, TPI


Stephen Sefchick lives in Hilton Head, SC with his wife April and Son Leo.
Stephen received his Bachelors of Science with focus in Exercise and Sports
Science from Bluefield College. He went onto complete his first Masters in
Science Administration with a focus on Leadership from West Florida
University. He then completed his second Master’s Degree, earning
Master's Degree of Science with a focus of Exercise and Sport Science.
He completed the well respected Clinical Exercise Physiologist through
A.C.S.M., he completed both NASM's Corrective Exercise Specialist
certification, is a golf exercise specialist and is TPI Certified.




Robert Ruffalo, PT, DC, CCSP, TPI, CGFI-MP3


Dr. Ruffalo is uniquely both an experienced physical therapist and chiropractor. In addition, he is a certified sports physician, certified golf fitness instructor/medical professional, level 3 by the Titleist Performance Institute(TPI) and a junior level coach. In addition to his work as a physical therapist and a chiropractor, he has a passion for educating his peers by providing continuing education courses to physical therapists, chiropractors and allied health professionals. Rob has taught more than 65 seminars, where many of the seminars are based on the advanced work of two key pioneers: the late Dr.
John Mennell, an orthopedist, and the late Dr. Janet Travell, who founded the trigger point model of diagnosis and treatment.




Elise Munn, MS, ATC, CSCS, CPRS, CAFS


Elise graduated from The George Washington University magna cum laude with a degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Science. She is a board-certified Athletic Trainer and licensed in Colorado. Her other certifications and licenses include:

  • Certified Post-Rehabilitation Specialist

  • NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist

  • Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM)

  • Applied Functional Science (Gray Institute)

Elise has worked in varying settings, from outpatient physical therapy clinics, to the Olympic Training Center, to workforce ergonomic and occupational health coaching, to performance fitness centers, to now running her own business. When not working with clients 1:1 in the post-rehabiltation space, Elise enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and running! She is a firm believer in all things adventure and values helping others get outside and do the things they love again post-injury.




Irfan Ishani, PT, Master's in Physiotherapy, CPRS


Irfan received his Bachelor of Science Specializing in Psychology from the University of Alberta and his Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia. As a firm believer in lifelong education, Irfan continues to stay up to date on best practice and research in his field and has received several certifications.

Irfan's expertise has led him to work with a diverse population including the elderly, youth, athletes, and orthopaedic patients. With sports being a huge passion, his most memorable experiences have involved training teams and being the physiotherapist for the South Australia's Fitzroy Lions Aussie Rules Footy team, The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League Championships as well as the Canadian Ismaili Games. He has also worked with some of the top level junior tennis players in the province and country and also has experience with treating Muay Thai fighters.

Having worked in a variety of settings, his breadth of knowledge in the field allows him to work with all types of patients and in all areas of the body, including the jaw, vestibular rehabilitation, and concussion management. Additionally, he is certified in dry needling




Paolo, Flocco DO, PT, CPRS


Paolo Flocco graduated in Physiotherapy from Sapienza University in 2006, completed the Diploma in Osteopathy in 2013 and the MSc in Rehabilitation Sciences of Health Professions in 2020. He has worked in international contexts and a lot in sports, with the Italian National Rowing Team, with Serie A players and the Italian National Rugby Team, with boxing athletes at European and world level.
Since 2014, he has been teaching advanced techniques to Physiotherapists in post-graduate courses. In addition to the professional activity in the studio, he is involved in dissemination as International Speaker at conferences, and teaching and research with the University "La Sapienza" of Rome. He always continues to update himself by attending courses, to offer the best solutions to his patients and the latest techniques to his students.
