Chris Kirby-Smith, PTA, BS
A native to Maryland, Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in
Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, School of Public
Health. While attending the University of Maryland Chris focused his studies
on biomechanics,exercise physiology, and researched the effects of proper
diet and exercise on individuals with type 2 diabetes. Chris later attended
Carroll Community College, where he earned his Associate of Applied Science
degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. Chris was exposed to a
diverse population of patients through his clinical rotations, including nursing
homes, geriatrics, inpatient, and pediatrics.However, he excels in the outpatient
orthopedic and sports rehabilitation settings. Chris has been practicing in
Maryland for 4 years and continues to return patients to a level that meets
or exceeds their prior level of function with manual techniques, injury
prevention education, and individualized therapeutic exercise. Chris is
enthusiastic about personal fitness and is currently seeking his personal training
certification through ACSM.
